Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscape) :

Course Description :

This qualification is ideally suited for those seeking a career as landscape gardeners and provides students with a wide landscaping skills base. The graduate students from this qualification will be able to work in the landscape industry with minimum supervision having gained a wide range of practical skills and supporting knowledge. To complete this course a total of 16 units must be completed. This course is delivered in face-to-face classroom and practical application of competency in the nursery through practical observations and project work.

Landscape gardeners serve clients by preparing plans/drawings for landscape site, set out and install brick/stone paths and timber structures, planting structures, prepare specifications and quotations and ordering landscape materials.

Graduates with the Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscape) can apply for entry into Certificate IV in Horticulture (Landscape). Qualifications framework for the Amenity Horticulture Training Package is available as required.

Entry Requirements :

  • Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent, and
  • IELTS 5.5 overall

Course duration :

Course Duration: 48 weeks

This course is conducted over a period of one academic year of full time study and consists of a minimum of 20 teacher contact hours per week.

Credit Transfer/ Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) :

You may be eligible for an exemption or credit transfer if you are able to demonstrate that you have achieved the level of skills and knowledge equivalent to the unit of competency in a course at another institute or through work experience. This is confirmed with the College at the time of enrolment.
